Happy New Year & Happy 30th Birthday Matt!

For those of you who don't know, Matt's birthday is New Year's Eve. Every year he insists on celebrating New Year's Eve and not his birthday but since this year was his big 3-0 I insisted on celebrating his birthday! We decided to get a hotel room at the Gaylord National on the Potomac in Maryland and have dinner at one of our favorite restaurants which is in the hotel.

The hotel's atrium was beautifully decorated for the holidays.

The atrium before the tree lighting.

We got seats at the Belvedere Lobby Bar front and center for the lighting where we enjoyed an Iceberg Cocktail.

The tree is lit!

So pretty!

Ready to go out!
(Or rather go downstairs, which is a good thing since it was freezing rain outside!)

Enjoying our dinner at Old Hickory Steakhouse

If you ever find yourself at Gaylord National for a convention, etc. and enjoy steak, wine and cheese, you must try Old Hickory Steakhouse. It is a bit pricey but I guarantee you will be more than satisfied. We had such a wonderful time celebrating New Year's but mostly I enjoyed celebrating my husband's 30th birthday. Happy Birthday Mister!!!
